I had my car fail end of June due to the Power-train/battery issue.
It had to be towed to the dealership. When I called for an appointment my dealer told me they were booking new appointments into August, so not even thinking about starting to install the latest update or even trying to diagnosis the issue.
A few days later I got a call from Ford Roadside assistance saying they wanted to compensate me for the trouble I was having. Was told it was for new or low mileage vehicles.
I have had my car for slightly over a year, and it has been at the dealership for almost half that time. Was rear ended a few weeks after I got it and it was in the shop for a little over 5 months. Now looks like another month or more..so I have only been able to drive it for about half the time I have owned it.
When I asked if they were offering to buy the car they said no, but they did have a buy back program either through Ford or the dealership.
Has anyone tried this????
I am really fed up and am seriously tempted to ditch this car and Ford as a company.

Absolutely you can search this forum, many have done buy backs on various vehicles to include diesel, gasoline, hydrogen hybrid and EVs.

It sounds like you're attributing a lot of the time loss and disappointment with the car to Ford/dealership when it actually seems like it is due to the accident? I'm not sure how being without your car for over 5 months due to an accident is Ford's fault?

You can try for a buyback, after you've satisfied the requirements of your state, generally it needs to be in the shop for a cumulative 30 days or the car has to have the same problem 3 or 4 times. Again, this varies by state, but it sounds like you're nowhere near any of this? I'm not even sure you can qualify for a lemon if you've been in an accident though...

Also, I'm not sure why you'd have your car towed to the dealer and then call for an appointment...? Why wouldn't you go in with the car, either ride with the tow truck driver or have someone drop you off? You should certainly qualify for a loaner/rental and they get you in immediately, you don't have the car sit there for an appointment.

Thanks for the reply, and yes the accident was not Ford's fault. That said they sent the dealership the wrong part three times, and they didn't provide the dealership with the parts that they needed to repair the parts. In addition I did not add that there was also the sunroof/windshield recall.
As for the dealership, my son-in-law has a new Bronco and it too has a recall. He called a different dealership for the install and his appointment for service is Dec.
Dealership or Ford it doesn't seem to matter, Ford is failing big time, and obviously they don't give their dealerships a lot of help.
