I do this all the time and disabled the double honk the day I got it.

I did the same, although not the day I got it
Its one thing I liked about the MMEGT as opposed to my i4M50... I can't leave the BMW on, although I haven't researched coding much at all.

I disabled the double honk and use the app to lock the doors when I walk away. Generally, if I'm leaving it on it's because of the dogs (2 black labs) in the back.

Doesn't your car shut down after a period of time when you remote start it unless you go into settings and turn off "Auto Off Timer"?

Yes but this was in response to the OP runnning into a store to grab something. 30 minutes (remote start plus extend) is more than enough time for that. It also supports the OPs distracted it just turns off preference. We aren’t talking about leaving something in the car running for hours in the OP here.

Damn. I'm old-fashioned (and trained by a master locksmith who grew up in Oakland during the Great Depression). I shut the car off and lock it manually. No leaving it running. No walk-away lock. ?‍?

I do this all the time and disabled the double honk the day I got it.

I leave mine on outside stores in the summer, and at home I leave it on overnight in garage about once a month to get the 12v to 100% and desulfate.
