License plate bracket

How do you make sure factory doesn't put bracket on bumper? I live in Texas.

Write the dealer and tell them not to install the front bracket. Also tell them that when the car arrives.

worst case scenario is they do it any way (probably will not but). If that happens you can remove it and plug the holes with matching plugs. Details buried within the deep archives of this forum.

I had assurances from dealer then I show up and they legally have to install it. I bought star white paint, plugs yet I had planned to get the approved bumper sticker for California front. Oh and they drilled 3 holes and used 2. Ugh

My dealer was able to sell it without the front license plate. I just told them I was adding my own bracket later and would assume responsibility.

When we purchased ours earlier this year we didn't tell them not to install it, they just didn't. They said we don't install brackets on cars like this. As the majority of people don't want them. We will likely install it ourselves if we get pulled over for it, but not until then as I don't want it on there. I looked at the under mount brackets and I didn't like the way they looked either and they also just looked flimsy.

Do we really want to be lumped in with 80% of the law breaking Tesla owners? Also, they could really use a license plate on the front. I really just want to go around slapping stickers on the front of their cars that say "This space left intentionally boring." ? Not really, but it would be funny.

I wish states would make that fully legal to do for front plates instead of being illegal but just good enough to keep the cops off of you.
Hell I would love texas to drop the Front plate requirement. It is not like it does any good and all our toll systems have to handle rear plated cars only as every state that touches texas is rear plates only.

Is this a "novelty" plate or a legal replacement? Is it legal in Texas to have a front vinyl plate?
