Usually I rely on the proximity lock/unlock but yesterday lost my key while out on a trip (yay...).

What's confusing me is that I had someone go check if the door opens, assuming the key fell out of my pocket in the car.

It did - Ok key's in the car.

I get there, key is not there.

Questions:
*If you unlock with the keypad does it stay unlocked indefinitely?
*Even if you then walk away with the key (leaving proximity)?
*Is the lock unlock behavior in the app the same?

Edit: if you lock remotely w/ the app and the key is in the car will it remain locked?

Regardless of how it was unlocked, it will stay unlocked as long as a door was opened. If a door was not opened, it will re-lock itself in about 1 minute.

Walking away with a key should trigger locking, but sometimes it just doesn’t work for whatever reason because technology. This is why I always lock before walking away if possible and treat the walk away lock more as a backup or if my hands are truly full.

If the car is locked with a key inside, it will not allow the car to unlock with that key.

Did the person you have check the car have a phone key or the key fob on them?

Nope. I may have unlocked with the door pad before leaving though.

Then you left the truck unlocked. That's why they could open it.
