I own a ‘21 Mach e premium AWD extended that I purchased new in early ‘22. I am approaching 100,000 miles and other than the high voltage junction issue, a couple of charger cord replacements and a few software glitches early on, I have had pretty smooth sailing so far.

I have been considering replacing the Mach e with something different once it hits 100,000 miles as I’ll be out of warranty. My fear is that service could get pricey.
Does anyone have any experience with any common issues once high mileage is reached?
Market value of my Mach E is pretty low so I’ve also thought of just running it until it has a major failure and junking it once the numbers don’t make sense.

The 100k warranty is only for the battery and HVB components. I have a ‘21 but purchased the ext warranty (8yr 100k miles $100 ded) as i plan to keep my car awhile. Most repairs i see online are in the 800-1500 avg. Even a new headlight is $1200 And not covered unless you get the light warranty.

100,000 miles is not high mileage, it’s just the warranty running out. I am in a similar situation, but I’m at 78,000. Maybe not as high as you. But I like the car and other than some “early adopter stuff” which I expected when I bought it, I’m betting on the car rather than an expensive breakdown. So I’m gonna keep it and drive it and enjoy it. I’m pretty much expecting the next 100K to be as trouble free as the first 78,000. But I have always kept my cars a long time so that’s just what I do.

Not a lot of them on the forum, but I haven't seen complaints for common problems with 100k plus. There's a guy in California that hit 315k trouble fee miles not that long ago.

I'm only at 40k, and I don't plan to stress when it passes 100k. Most of my cars have seen actual high miles. Once upon a time I bought a Silverado with 220k and drove it another 100k, was still going strong when I passed it on.

I’m on a Dec ‘20 build/June ‘21 delivery with 125,000 miles ER RWD Premium having had the usual recalls, park brake failure and a door catch module failure.

It’s worth very little, relatively speaking, I nearly pulled the trigger and bought a new Rally GT a few months ago but reconsidered because a car that’s worth little and still looks really good depreciates very little.

HVB SoH is still at around 93% with no other apparently impending faults/issues that bother me.

There is a whine from the transmission which I think I may always had, it might just be in my head that it is something which developed.

The way I look at that is if there’s a failure the cost of slinging a new transmission under the rear still doesn’t outweigh the amount I would’ve lost in the immediate depreciation of a new car so doesn’t really phase me.

I would probably drive it until the technology of the coming EVs has another magnitude better ADAS - which may happen with that coming truck maybe as early as 2027. Also, it could be a primo car for a relative or friend should you want a newer one now.

My thoughts on cars once they are paid off is how much would a repair be in monthly payments? A 50k car over 5 years is almost 1k a month. Outside of the battery I would think most other parts would be worth fixing. probably main electric motor would be the next most expensive. We all know how to check the battery life, so as long as it was good I'd drive it until it is dead or rusting.

I don't know how to check battery life and a forum search of that term doesn't produce useful results. Please explain or link a post that explains how to do that. I'd be most grateful.

Advice on how to read HVB SoH (High Voltage Battery State of Health) is all over the forum, you won’t find anything on “battery life” prediction because there is no such thing, there is a measure of battery life to date which can be read using diagnostic equipment but is of no real use.

A link to one piece of advice on how to read SoH which is your best bet for determining how good the battery is as of now and expressed as a percentage can be found here: https://www.macheforum.com/site/threads/things-to-watch-for-when-buying-used.51669/post-1046478

Hope this is of use.

Apologies. I thought you were referring to testing the 12v battery. Thanks for the link, tho.

I'm at 111k miles and purchased a 2021 ER AWD Premium at 95k - no issues so far and my HVB SoH is still at around 95%. Only issue I've had so far is my right front tire popping but that was due to a bubble in the sidewall and I procrastinated buying a new one. My biggest issue is the ride quality and am planning on adding the sway bars + rally springs to take the edge off.

SoH is very useful, we just don't seem to know at what point the HVB stops functioning as I don't think anyone has reached that point. I would assume outside of some physical deterioration the HVB will continue drop in range or stop holding a charge. My Leaf at 12 years old was down to %68 and losing %1 a month on the original battery.
