So for those of us up north, are you guys planning to anti-rust your cars? I mean that big floor plate seems a perfect candidate to rust or at least accuumulate salt from the ground. I'm assuming that only the chassis would need the treatment but not sure its necessary on this car.

From @ChasingCoral photos, isn't that big under plate covered in plastic?
I have a 2016 Escape that has been through 5 Ohio winters, and so far the only real corrosion I have had was on the hitch receiver.
They do so much better with corrosion these days, that if you garage your car, I am not sure it is worth it.

It'll be 50/50 the problem here is the city puts a ton of salt/abrassive. If its plastic than its less of a risk at which point i'd only have to worry about the suspension components. The body ill put ppf and ceramic coating but still worried about the rest.

Watch this guy videos, even if most of these cars have a 5 year warranty for rust many people still have a rust threatment that will bring that to about 10 years, so if you think of keeping a car 5 years or less it's not worthed but if you want to keep it longer then it might be worthed. This guy does not drill holes in the panels to shoot the stuff in he undo inside door panel and everything he can to make an excellent job, but I think it could be long to get a rendez-vous with him.

Yes he's like Barry's rust proofing near dorval. The only issue i have is 1) how solid is the car when he puts it back together and 2) Even though i have no proof of this but i always felt that these types of rust proofing always caused electrical issues just from personal experience so thats why i only do the undercarriage now.

When my dad bought cars, Rust proofing was a huge deal. Would charge you a fortune to drill holes and tar your car. I remember every time it got really hot our car would drip that goo.

Dealer add-ons like that were awful. They would have all their cars treated before coming on the lot so you had to buy it.

I agree but but those 10yr one actually worked well for me. The cars i had that have that never rusted. My 16yr old SpecV whicjmh is winter driven has it and rust was very minimal

The good anti-rust protections, yes. The crap most dealers put on, no.

I had my Kia Sportage done by the dealer, it's going on to it's 7th year now and no apparent rust. But anyway by spring it won't be mine anymore.

Aren't the quarter panels on the Mach-E aluminum? Wouldn't that mitigate the most common rust areas?
