I don't believe the prices will be going down. Inflation, government incentives, and war on oil will push the prices higher. I think we saw the lowest priced vehicles from Ford, there will be higher prices in the coming years.

It’s more expensive because it’s better.

I remember the same complaints/arguments about my last car, the Chevy SS.

Everyone had the same complaint:

Why is it $48k when a base Camaro SS is $34k?

The answer was simple- it came with more stuff. If you optioned up the Camaro SS with all the Chevy SS stuff, it actually cost over $50k.

That said, I sold my 2015 Chevy SS to CarMax 2 weeks ago for $45,000. I did just fine.

FWIW, a base Mach 1 is $53,400.

Almost identical to the price of a Mach E GT after tax credit.
