Has anyone managed to find a company making a summer bug bra for the Mach-E? Obviously for the Mach-E the mesh would be over the active louvers to stop bugs from getting clogged up in the rad behind them.

Where I live, in the summer, there's LOTS of bugs (mosquitos, wasps, flies, etc) that on a daily basis highway driving the whole front end gets littered with bugs. I'm really particular and know that bug guts are acidic on clear coat if left for long periods, so I use either a no-rinse wash or a quick rinse and dry to get the bugs off most days. .....I would rather just have a bug bra like the one below since I am always on the highway to and from work and on weekends all summer long......

awful looking had on an old mitsu eclipse, it also damages the paint. Why not go with a ppf on front like xpel sells, you can have it professionally done and probably not much more than the cost of the bra. I've been using this stuff for years on bikes motorcycles and cars. https://www.xpel.com/ULTIMATE-PLUS-Paint-Protection-Film-Custom-Length

Yes that's good feedback, it could cause other paint damage, you are right.

For the Xpel product, is it pretty invisible? I've never seen it in person and pictures and videos do usually do justice. the other curiosity I have is how does it hold up? does it look foggy, faded or scuffed when it gets old?

the film is invisible, unlike ealier 3m clear films which yellowed or even stained from bugs, this stays glossy and clear for years. I've got some that's been on motorcycles and bikes for a number of years.

Thing is some people tend to go overboard on the film and install can be really expensive, for me best bang for the buck is to cover the painted areas in front much like the bra in your picture does. Because of the compound contours I'd recommend a professional install, xpel has a link to installers on their site.

Yeah those clear bras basically made the 1980s bras obsolete.

Look better, work better, and actually protect the paint rather than cause more dmg.

I had an old school car bra on a car in the 90s and definitely did more harm than good to the paint.

Thank you, I'll have a look.

is it about the same as removing a wrap when it's time to remove or replace down the road?

Okay, it's making more sense why these things are not really easy to find anymore for new vehicles. I've never had one on my vehicles before. my dad did on his vehicles but I was a kid and wasn't very attentive to paint damage in those days haha.

New-age PPF it is!
