Man, I have to say, after about 4 months of ownership, I still at a minimum get 1 random stranger per week coming up and complimenting the car. Granted, Grabber Blue stands out, and I make it a point to keep my car clean at all times, but I'm pretty sure 50 years from now the MachE will be remembered as one of the legendary cars of all time.

The scarcity of the car makes it even better as you rarely see these things on the road these days. I know at some point Ford will mass produce these babies, but for now I sure am enjoying it! It's like the Ford Motor Company from the 1960s is back, and they got the design team from the Galaxie 500 to build a modern EV.

I've had my car 14 months and rarely get a look much less a comment. But living in SoCal, the car mecca, the Mach E is mostly ordinary looking compared to the often seen expensive foreign sports cars that live here. EVs are a dime a dozen here. My small cul-de-sac of 10 homes has 7 EVs, 5 Teslas, an Audi E-Tron and my Mach E. Most of my neighbors don't even know that my car is an EV.

Driving a car, even what many consider unique in the Mach E, can be very humbling here.

While it's not SoCal or LA, my neighborhood in NYC is not too shabby! The garage I park in is filled with Teslas, Porches, Mercedes, BMWs... I've even seen a lambo SUV and a Rolls Royce cruising around the neighborhood. Would not trade any of them for my MachE! Ford is the car company of the working man.

My grandpa used to give the Amish rides when I was a kid (they wouldn't drive a car themselves, but they'd get others to drive them when they needed a ride). Good people. I doubt they'd be tipping their hat to a Porsche Taycan or a BMW iX.

Have had mine for a year and still get my share of attention. Last week some middle school kids biked over to talk to me about it in the grocery store parking lot. This morning when I dropped it at the Park n Fly at the airport all of the staff were giving it lots of compliments!!

Uh, no. The MME is not going to be much more than a blurb in the annals of automotive history. It'll be known more for the controversial name than anything else.

Is it as wrong as a Mustang SUV?
Ford has always made a variety of vehicles: trucks, "family" vehicles, and mustang sports cars. Those mustangs have always had 4 seats, and the hatchback fox body is considered a classic. Hell, I used my '87 hatchback to haul lumber, sod, and just about anything else. Adding 2 more doors is not a huge change to the fox body.

And don't kid yourself: those mustangs are great but they are not in the same league as the 2 seat supercars Lamborghini has always been known for. And yes, the GT40 is probably in that league, but again lambo was exclusively dedicated to making 2 seat supercars.

It’ll be known for the “performance” model having its performance limited after 5 seconds and Ford lying to consumers about it

That is just so wrong; it's like using a thoroughbred to pull a wagon
I agree, but I also don't blame them. A 2-seat lambo supercar has zero practical use. I wouldn't drive it to work, and I definitely wouldn't take it for any sort of extended road trip. I'd take it to the track on my day off and have fun. So basically it's a $1 million toy for rich people. Not many people are going to be buying them. However, a $200,000 performance SUV... there's a market for that. Not a fan of the lambo SUV (14mpg lol), but the upcoming Lotus Eletre I'd be all over if I had the money.

haha if Ford gave you more than 5 seconds of power you wouldn't be saying that.

It is an extremely practical car, and in my opinion has enough performance to feel like a sports car.

With that being said I hope you get your 10seconds of power.
