I have a 2024 mache select, just two weeks old(july 2025). It recently got updated to latest as well.

Everytime i turn on the car, it randomly turns on the AC in one of 5 runs(my AUTO is off), sometimes it turns on the heater in 40 deg Celsius.

Most importantly, it changes the drive mode by itself, i always have it in wisper mode. Once i noticed the car was behaving differently, turned out it went into engage mode itself.

I have light in Auto mode, last night it turned on the high beam in city traffic itself, i was surprised that why people are honking and flashing me. When i was about to flash them back, it turned out it was active all the time along.

As anyone experienced this? I have a feeling that it happens if i start the car directly, instead of letting it startup without pressing the brake.

Drive mode changing is fairly common on my 24 GT. I normally have it set to Unbridled and it will sometimes (maybe once or twice a week) switch to Engaged. I have seen this on both startup and shutdown. Definitely a software bug.

Prior to this drive mode issue, there used to be a "Drive Mode Not Available" while you were driving, so I guess this is an improvement :) I saw that about as often on my old ride, a '21 Premium.

I haven't seen those other issues.

2021 Job 2 owner here. Recently it has been better, but, historically ANY update would break something else. This sounds like an improvement to me

Wow, thats not good, they should have tested these things in QA phases. Now i am being careful to check what get changed everytime i turn it on.

I have similar behavior with mine (2024 premium). Drive mode changes often. It decides whether it has the heat on (when it should have AC) and so on. Sometimes the steering wheel heat or seat heat will randomly come on. The startup sounds sound different from time to time as well - and I'm not talking about whether I'm buckled or not before starting it - the tone and pace of the normal beeps varies. There are other inconsistencies as well. It's weird, and I'm glad it is a lease.

Funny sounding startup chimes is a sign the 12V battery is getting weak. That might also explain some of the other behavior. I would recommend you get your 12V battery tested at your dealer. Perhaps it went bad from sitting a long time.

Ford Mach-E Premium 2024
I have a 2024 Mach-E Premium. I was driving in Whisper Mode at first but it was changing to Engage from time to time. I don’t know if it was trying to convince me, but it did. I now prefer to drive in Engage Mode as one-pedal driving is much smoother on the highway.

I had problems with the climate control, but it was entirely my fault. On a scorching day last week, I turned the car on with the Ford Pass app which had memorized my winter settings (heated steering wheel and seats). ?

The auto high beams setting is activated and it is very sensitive to incoming cars. I don’t remember the last time I got headlights flashed at me.

I always turn the car on while pressing the brake pedal and my experience feels different from yours.

My MME turns on auto mirror folding at least once a week. I always keep it off, because I feel it does unnecessary wear and especially in winter with ice and snow. But for some reason every 10th to 20th time when I lock the car, the mirrors fold. Most of the time folding gets enabled in settings, and I can just disable it again, but couple of times it was off and the mirrors folded anyway. Software bug?
