Meet Ares! My new Rapid Red, First Edition, Mustang Mach E! Picked up on Saturday.



I was searching for a name since lots of you have christened your cars. What was the perfect name for a red Mustang, a red horse, for me?



Mars popped up . . . but that is Roman Mythology for the god of war . . . I’m Greek. Everyone knows the Romans plagiarized the Greeks. The ORIGINAL Greek Mythology name for Mars is Ares.



So Ares it is for me.



Ares is a warrior in the battle of climate change, in the battle to change our mobile future from ICE to BEV, and in the battle of a great traditional OEM (Ford) to make an amazing vehicle vs. those who are better at software than building cars. His plate will say E Pony, but his heart will be Ares, the heart of a warrior.

As you probably know....I name all my vehicles as well.
One of my favorite vehicles that I've owned was a 2005 Pontiac GTO. It was black on black with red stitching, aluminum pedals, red painted brake calipers and 0-60 in 4.7 seconds. The name of that car was "Thunder" as in Thunder from Down Under. (that car was made in Australia). Very nice car.

My Carbonized Gray FE reminds me a lot of that car. Dark color exterior, dark interior, red stitching, alum pedal covers, red calipers and 0-60 in about 4.8 (apparently). So, it is basically a BEV version of the GTO. So, if the GTO is Thunder then the Mach-E FE might be the God of Thunder, aka "Thor". So, Thor it is.

Plus, my wife says the MME is sexy and Thor is sexy so it fits.

By the way, plenty of thumbs up while on the highway today. One guy was videoing my car as they drove by smiling with a thumbs up.

Waiting in the parking lot at Kohl’s (I was store numb at that point from taking my wife shopping) a lady came up to the car with her husband and said “I’m not stalking you, but is that the new electric Mustang”? I spent 15 minutes answering their questions. They were really interested and excited.

Last night we met one of my wife’s Managers to take her family to dinner. She had her 8 year old son and his friend with them. The first restaurant was an hour wait so we decided to go to another place and the boys begged the mom to ride with us. It was SO much fun making those boys laugh and smile. They knew more about cars, electric cars, and the Mustang than half the salesmen at the dealership. His mom said he has been talking about it all day today.

Those are the great things. Making people smile.

Ford did good Tru.
