I have a full-size matched spare wheel and tire for my CA-R1 but it takes up so much of the rear cargo space. I would prefer to have the modern spare kit which is half the width, but they only make them in size 155/85R18, while the stock CA-R1 size is 225/60R18. If I'm not mistaken, this means that the modern spare is sized for premium and select models, and the CA-r! would need a 155/60R18 tire on it. Does anyone know if modenr spare will adjust this for me, or would I need to also purchase a new tire with the modern spare kit? That makes the price a bit unjustifiable in my opinion.

What modern spare offers is really nice. If you want something similar and want to save some money go to www.car-part.com and look up Land Rover Evoque their 18x4 spare is 5x108 and 155/85/18 115m. A spare wheel and tire can be had in my area for $55

The 155/85/18 will work on all the Mach E models except the GTPE which needs a 19" to clear the larger front calipers. As long as you use the spare as intended (for use until you get you regular tire fixed) it will be fine

Tire sizes are a simple math problem 225 is the width 60 is the aspect ratio 18 is the wheel size.
225/60 will give you the height of the sidewall in MM then you can covert to imperial and get what is called an overall height (sidewall height + wheel size)

All the Mach E models use the same overall diameter tire and that is:

28.63" for the CR1 & select with 18"
28.37" for the 155/85/18
28.74" for the 19" premium
28.68" for the GT with 20"

I have not test fit this but there are a few threads on this site about it.

Right on their site they answer your question.

For those considering used tires like the Land Rover, make sure you check the date code on the tire. I saw one for sale months ago that was like 10 years old.

My understanding was that the aspect ratio size affects the total diameter, I thought the entire purpose of the CA-R1 having 18 wheels and a 60 aspect ratio was to give it a smaller total diameter which helps with range efficiency, but it seems that the total diameter is the same as selects and premiums which is confusing.

With the CR1 better efficiency is created by the Aero wheels. CR1 trim shares the same 18" tires as the select. Also if you noticed the standard range premium for 2023 went to the 19" aero wheels to help with efficiency.

I read somewhere that for 2024 the CR1 is no longer made. Likely Ford will allow you to order the premium or select trim with CR1 Aero wheels.

Generally, all trim levels of a car model keep the same overall tire height.
