I just got a spare tire on ebay from a Jaguar e Pace, im seeing some of you have put it in the rear trunk and I kind of like that idea, the only thing I have not seen is how is everyone screwing down the tire to the chasis of the car so in the event of an accident, that thing doesnt go flying?

They are using the two tie-down rings and then perhaps the metal on the backs of the seats. But it's clearly an issue.

That would work for me.. are you able to put the rear carpeted cover over and it fits flush?
No, it always looks like a Baja 500 racer now, also the loops on the lift gate and seat back don’t really seem sturdy enough for holding down a spare tire and also not sure if this will work with the back seat in the upright position. Its good for a little peace of mind, but not a real solution if you are actually concerned about safety in an accident.
