When I use Android Auto, I used to get two loud notifications when I would get a new text message. I assume was coming via car settings the other thru phone settings. I was able to go thru the settings in the car to turn off one of the alerts but I still get the second one. I have my phone notifications set to silent but I still get it. How do I turn this off?

In iOS the phones goes to driving mode when it connects to CarPlay. In the setting for that mode, I can set what I want notifications for and which ones to mute.
I would assume android has a similar functionality.

there are two places that control chimes.

1. the mach-e sync settings. with the car on and phone connected, go to settings of the car, then to phones and for your connected phone select the bluetooth icon to switch it from android auto to bluetooth. then expand those bluetooth settings on the car and turn off notifications for all items (mail, sms, etc). when done select the android auto icon to switch back to using android auto

2. android auto settings, in android auto on the car screen go to settings and there is an option relating to chimes/notifications or silent notifications. Depending on the version it may be different wording. but find that option and turn it on/off whatever is appropriate.

I had the double chime to start when I got my mach-e, then I turned off the android auto chimes....still had one chime.....took a bit to figure out the buried sync chime settings the car was generating.
