My car shipped from Mexico on the 09/28/21. How long is the real transit time to Houston, TX? does it really go to KC and then back down?

I just got this email from Ford:

“Fantastic news! Your 2021 Mustang Mach-E Premium has been built – which means it won’t be long before you’re able to experience the thrill of driving!

Our current estimate for delivery to [dealer] is between November 13, 2021 and November 19, 2021. Also, we wanted to include your vehicle’s unique identification number for your reference: *****************”

Until this morning the status showed scheduled for production “week of 9/27/21”.

Centralized distribution model. All vehicles go to a common hub. Otherwise, they would have to uncouple/decouple train cars at every delivery point they pass through. Just because a plane from LA to DC flies over KC doesn't mean folks can hop off as they go by.

Because train.

It would take a lot of planning, and a lot of resources and time to “let people off the train at every stop.”

They would have to load the train very specifically in order and have people at each place to then move and deliver the vehicles.

Ours shipped on/about the same day and we’re in the Austin area, new ETA for dealer delivery is 10/12-10/18 after the initial eta of 10/25-10/31. I’m actually surprised it’s that quick all things considered. Ordered on 5/21/21 and chip hold was only 27 days.

As others have stated, packing them on the trains isn’t conducive to quick, efficient unloading at waypoints to the central depot in Kansas City. And that would also cause many delays getting the majority to the central hub as well.

Disappointingly I just got this email today too about the first order GT I cancelled. I'm a little surprised they're saying it's going to be almost a two month trip in the email.

Well don't be so hasty, I mean they could hop off it just wouldn't end well.
