Nav Indicator on Instrument Cluster

I tried the built-in nav system a few days ago and since then I've seen the trip mileage indicator display on the instrument cluster. Pretty positive it wasn't there before. I've confirmed I don't have any active navigation and can't find a setting that would turn this off. Any ideas?
