I agree with your summary. I looked at this option hard and realized there wasn't enough of a change so one of the reasons I didn't opt for it for my GT PE vehicle. I also wasn't sure the blacked out wheels would look good with the new Vapor Metallic Blue.The only thing Ford stated would be different from a typical 2023 GT PE was black painted wheels and a black GT badge on the back.
High-gloss black 19-inch wheels and a black Pony on the grille set the Premium apart, while the GT Performance Edition sports 20-inch high-gloss black wheels and black GT badge. The package also features black front and rear lower fascia, front and rear door cladding, wheel center caps with bright pony graphics and black mirror caps.
Are you sure the GT badge wasn't black? Here's one at a dealer in Texas, for instance:
