I may have discovered the secret of all secrets. 5 times today the car wouldn't wake up with my PaaK held close to the door, no matter how much feverish button mashing I did.

1st time I ended up unlocking it from the app, because reasons.
2nd time I used the keypad. Car picked up the key once I was in for this and the 1st time.
3rd time I stood mashing the button forever, then reached over and hit the back door button on a whim. It opened.
4th time, not so many button mashes before I tried the back door. It opened.
5th time I held my phone by the front keypad and pressed the back door button. Opened on the first try.

A bug, an anomaly, or an Easter Egg? Or just Paak being Paak?

Yeah, typical. Hold your phone by the side mirror (where the antenna is) if the front doesn't work, but using the back button usually fixes it.

So, my PAAK has been unreliable on/off since delivery. I have noticed that when I approach the passenger side, it's much more reliable. Also able to confirm that I sometimes walk right up to the door and nothing... but if I hold my phone against the driver's mirror, it wakes right up. So could there be an antenna issue or perhaps what the antenna connects to on the other side?

I don't try Paak all that often, but usually when I do (that is, I left the fob at home...) it works with my phone in my pocket. Yesterday, I mashed and mashed at the door button and nothing happened. I took my phone out of my pocket and mashing the door button still didn't work. I then hit the unlock button on the Fordpass app, and that worked. Got in the car, expecting "key not found", but all was OK and I drove home. Fortunately, my wife wasn't with me or her eyes would have been rolling by then...

Post the recent update, I got to the point where I was thinking, "Hey, PaaK seems better, must have been the update. Nice."

Now I'm not so sure. Past couple of days seems to be back to normal levels of hit or miss.

Wow. Different part numbers for left and right. Efficient! Are these programmable? I'm curious what actually triggers them on, when why and how. Curious enough to ask, anyway. No idea how to come up with the answer.

I don't want to read the manual (I gratefully outsource that to those who have), but I doubt it's got much insight, specifically. FDRS Team - do these parts have a value you can read? Just curious if there's a way to see them.

Or, has this been discussed as often as the GoM and cold weather range and I just need to search the forum?

This was a big problem on some early deliveries, mine included. I could only open the drivers door after opening another door first. I mostly resolved the issue by momentarily disconnecting the 12V battery. A later door module software update was released I think as a CSP, but I’m not sure it helped. I haven’t seen much talk about it in a long time, hopefully this is a limited issue. It’s really inconvenient.
