Cheap Windows laptops are less than Mongoose cables.First, not everyone has the technical chops/courage to do an update that could potentially brick their car. Second, it’s more than just a cable. For example, I’m exclusively Apple. I would have to buy a windows PC and an expensive FDRS license (yes, I know “cheap” ones are available), and a special power supply (not just a 12V Battery tender) to even attempt it. Why should I invest over $1,000 to likely brick my car?
