No lighting in glove compartment

I have not seen one but the solution maybe to find those battery tap lights?
Speaking of missing items. I looked at both Kia and Hyundai EVs and they do not have rear wipers saying it was to conserve energy. ?

They’re finally adding those to the ‘25 model years - you’re referring to the EV6 and Ioniq 5 I imagine. I had a ‘22 Ioniq 5 Limited AWD. Nice car; but steering is way too light. The lack of the rear wiper was a huge pain in heavy rain. Couldn’t see anything out there. No surprise to anyone I’m sure. But I respect the Hyundai Motor Group a lot for their innovation in general, and in EVs in particular. At least they finally listened and added that. What they didn’t add retroactively other than to their Genesis model (GV60), is wireless CarPlay and Android Auto. So if you have a ‘22-‘24 EV6 or Ioniq 5, you have to use a USB A cable located about 20cm away from the normal phone holder.

I have to say the cabin lighting in my 24 MME is feeble. Especially the back area. I wish there were more brightness when entering or exiting.

No Mach-E model has a glove compartment light as standard. I believe that @markboris added lighting to his glove box. ??

Yes as Steve mentioned above, I added a light in the glove box even though I don't really use it. I purchased the EV-Vida ambient lighting kit for the Mach-E and it came with extra LED's that you can place where you want and I put one in the glove box and the others in the door latch area. The kit will work with the Sync ambient lighting system and adjust to any color chosen except for Ice Blue and can be dimmed. I also added lighting in the rear door storage bins and under the front seats for the rear footwells.

The lighting is not as bright as these photos make it look. It's more soft and muted.

That’s what I will do. My only problem is that paying 70k for a car and missing a lightbulb which is not some luxury to have really irritated me ??

Attach a small motion sensitive led light in the glovebox. Cheap and effective.

There's no lighting in any model, afaik. Keep your documents elsewhere, as a warrant is needed to search your glove compartment, and it's wise to not open it unnecessarily should you need to hide something. You could buy a small touch-activated LED light should you so choose.

In the EU the police does not need a warrant to search your (whole) car if they suspect illigal activities. The missing light is silly; I’m fitting an IR activated LED light?

I just discovered the absence of the light two nights ago when my wife was looking for the spare readers stashed in the glovebox.

In the USA the police only need probable cause of a crime. It is usually obtained by having a dog sniff drugs, but it has been shown the dogs will alert to please the handlers. Most people give up there right to be free from unreasonable searches by allowing the police to search when asked thinking they have nothing to hide.
