Picked up a GB FE in MI last week and drove it home to Tallahassee. Got home and noticed that sometimes, on starting the car, I hear what sounds like a turbine spooling up - then it gradually sounds like the rpms fall off and the sound becomes not noticeable. The sound (at its loudest) is not really loud - but the sound is certainly noticeable. Any ideas what this might be?

Welcome.

Has it been warm where you are? It could be the coolant system pressurizing. Personally I haven't noticed anything like that--of course that doesn't mean it isn't happening I just haven't noticed.

Yes - temperatures in the 70s and 80s. Attached is a brief video with the sound

If it’s warm, and you e been charging, the battery is already even warmer. So it’s the battery cooking kicking in. Since the battery isn’t really all that warm yet, it doesn’t stay on long. If you got out, you’d see the grill shutters will open as well to get airflow to the battery.
Pretty cold where I live, but one day it almost hit 70 degrees and I saw this happen.

In south florida no garage. Happens every time I start the car. So it’s the battery cooli g down. Sometimes I think it wants to take off and fly
