I just bought the P Zero Elect tires for my CA RT1 (18”). Have another thread debating than or the Hankook Ion Evo ones. Both seem like excellent options.

Generally a better experience to a the stock Primacy A/S. No noticeable efficiency gains/losses (yet), similar road noise, better handling.

Definitely better traction on curves and behaves well and predictably.
Thanks for sharing, have you driven them in rain yet? In their testing Tire Rack liked the P Zero Elect's dry performance but took issue with their wet grip, which seems to go back to what @mkhuffman mentioned about the tradeoff between low rolling resistance and wet traction.

That P Zero E from Europe looks very interesting, I look forward to seeing how it performs though Pirelli will need to sort out their naming scheme to avoid confusion with the Elect they already have on the market.

The Hankook Ion tires I put on my car have less wet traction compared to the OEM tires. So yep, it is real.

Has anyone tried Vredstein? I don’t care about range loss that much, but I wanted something with overall good tread life and reliability so Les Schwab recommended the Vredstein HiTrac and Vredstein Quatrac (I don’t have the storage for winter tires so I needed something that will do well all year round).

EDIT: well I’m an absolute idiot and let them install the HiTrac’s - well the load index is only 99 and the factory sticker says 103… I get to now go exchange them out in the morning. Note to self: CHECK THE LOAD INDEX FIRST

sad because these tires seem so quiet and honestly seem to be more comfortable to drive on.

I bought my 22 GTPE used and it came with new Pirelli P Zero A/S plus Elect’s. I was happy with them, both in dry and wet, until I saw that Tire Rack test report. I then spent several weeks looking for alternatives as wet braking and handling are what I consider the most important features in a tire for my driving. I dm’d some of the tire gurus on this forum for advice. I settled on the Pirelli P Zero A/S + 3’s. Tire Rack test (https://www.tirerack.com/tires/tests/testDisplay.jsp?ttid=324) and the Tyre Review site (https://www.tyrereviews.com/Article/2023-Tyre-Reviews-UHP-All-Season-Tyre-Test.htm) both give it the best wet braking distance, and it runs neck and neck in all other categories but snow with the Continental DWS 06+, which runs neck and neck with the Pilot Sport 4 A/S. The P Zero A/S 3 +’s haven’t been snow tested yet by either site. That’s not an issue for me as I have other vehicles I’ll use in the snow.

So I was able to directly compare the elects to the non-ev tires. I found there was no significant difference in the noise level or smoothness compared to the elects. The handling should be much better than the elects based on the test results. Also, I lost no range; 3.0 mi/kwh average before, and the same in the 600+ miles I’ve driven since the change after resetting the range data. I’m not sure what the trade off is, maybe reduced treadwear? Poor snow performance? At any rate, I would confidently recommend the P Zero A/S 3+’s over the elects based on my experience.

I bought the stock size 245/45 20. Also worth noting, I bought new wheels that probably should be costing me some range, but aren’t, compared to stock wheels/elects. So maybe on the stock wheels I would have actually gained range. Who knows.

I do actually run the Quatrac Pros as my all-weather/winter set.

There is a noticeable range penalty but if you don't care about that they are at least decent across dry, wet, and snow and better than the OEM tires in the latter areas. IMO the Michelin CC2 is a little better still across the board, but the Vredesteins can usually be found for less.

You might want to check out the Quatrac Pro+ which is now listed on Tire Rack and fits the Premium size and load spec (225/55R19 103W). No reviews yet since it's a brand new revision of the Quatrac Pro, but Vredestein's website says it has 5% better snow performance and 5% lower rolling resistance than before.

I actually just put on theses as my replacements for my tires:

Michelin
CrossClimate2
245 /55 R18 103V SL BSW

On These Wheels:

Vision
Clutch
18 X8.5 5-108.00 38 BKGLMS

I've heard nothing but good things about these tires and I immediately noticed a ride difference on the ride back from Discount Tire. I had originally installed the factory tires on the Vision Clutch Wheels and they looked like doughnuts. I let them wear down and I replaced them with these. These look SO MUCH BETTER!
