The handle above the front passenger door (wife’s side, don’t know why she hangs on so much😁) no longer stays up against the roof. Just wondering if that’s happened to anyone else and is there a cheap/easy fix. Not sure if I replace the whole thing or maybe just the spring? I thought for sure I would find a thread on here, but I couldn’t. Thanks in advance.

Aye, happened to my passenger side handle, too.

It’s made of sh*t, then!

Who knew🤷🏼‍♂️

May explain reason for its failure🙄

May cut off wife’s hand so she can’t hang onto it anymore then have it fixed.

Shout up when you discover a resolution👍

Thanks much for quick reply. With all the miles on yours , that doesn’t surprise me. Mine has 21k over 4 years. Maybe I’m taking the “drive it like you stole it” a little too literally. Son just informed me don’t repair, just replace entire handle. Son in law said same. About 40 bucks and easy to do. That or live with it.

So bought a new handle about 50 bucks. Had enough points to pay for it. My son-in-law removed the old handle assist and installed the new one in less than 10 minutes.

Did you strip the old one or do anything to discover why it’s spring went weak?

Thinking about giving mine a squirt with some
Kind of lubricant. Do you think that might work?

We took it apart but really just seemed the mechanism failed. Only one side holds the handle up, and I dont think lubricant would have any effect. I already threw the handle away or would double check.

The spring was enclosed and we didn’t bust it open. I think it just broke.
