Online order vs Dealership order

First post here, how different is online order vs dealership order. I've ordered one at the dealership 3 weeks ago but it doesnt show up on my Ford account online.

Ordered for a Premium Extended Range AWD. Replacing my 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLC300.

I would get some sort of physical confirmation that the order was placed on the dealer end. I placed an order online on 3/13, dealer requested I come in and verify all selected options on 3/17. On 3/19 I noticed that the “order accepted by dealer” wasn’t completed in my account’s orders and reservations tab. My salesperson assured me the order was placed and it would all be handled on their end. Unfortunately, I believed them. When I texted my salesperson mid June, I didn’t hear back. I reached out again in July and they said there was no update. On 7/27, I received an email from Ford showing the date the dealer finally accepted my order…… 6/29! Like I said at the beginning…. Get proof and don’t just accept their word that the order was placed like I did.

That’s exactly hat happened to me. I placed my order at the dealer and I never heard ONE WORD from Ford!

So did the wait time reset to 6/29? And if your order was made in March, you should probably get your car by now. Are you still waiting on it?

I got a production date (9/12-since moved to 9/20) on 7/29. I’m still waiting. Thankfully I didn’t have to wait another 4 months before I was scheduled.

I actually went to the dealer, they had me log on to ford.com at the dealership, put my order and and $500 deposit online. The whole process thru taking delivery of the car 17 weeks later was pain free.

There is actually no such thing as an online order. When you place that order the nearest dealership will receive a notification to contact you and complete the order process. Individuals are not allowed to order directly from Ford. Everything has to be done via a dealership.
