I've found that appraisals of my trade-ins over the years describe the car color by only a basic description: red, black, blue, etc.. If this holds true, IBSM would be appraised as "silver." That is probably a safe bet to retain value just about anywhere.

It just worried me since they discontinued it (less demand when it was previously available for order?) But so far the poll results have been very favorable to it so I'm feeling better about it.

Keep in mind that simply because the color is discontinued on the mach-e doesn't mean it's gone from Ford. Infinite Blue, for example, lives on under another name in other model cars.

For what it’s worth...pics taken of my IBSM this morning showing color changes in same lighting. It’s a subtle blue and hides chips pretty well. Yes, I love this color!

Because the opinion of 26 strangers on the internet is valuable in determining resale, in a particular market, 1-2 years down the road?

Car makers discontinue colors all the time. Ruby Red Metallic was a top Ford color for years, replaced by Rapid Red Metallic. Does that mean that Ruby Red Metallic is going to impact resale on my several year old vehicle. Absolutely not. It's meaningless. Unless the color is "out there", whether it's discontinued or not is totally irrelevant.

The emoji is cute and all but let me put it to you this way:

Given there pretty much no data points in the market for this color resell-wise (few cars with it to begin with and only available for a year), sampling a bunch of people who either own or are interested in purchasing a MME could at the very least tell me if people hate it (i.e. the poll was overwhelmingly a No). So yeah... that would be valuable to know before purchasing rather than just guessing it wouldn't impact resell.

And yes I know the change the colors/names slightly etc a red vs a red. But this color is fairly unique, hence the question to the community.

Don’t buy it! Your resale will be horrible.

Just look around, NO ONE buys silver cars!

It is a decent color and I don't think you will have any resale issues with it. I have it on my Lightning. I just wish it was more blue and that Ford offered bolder colors in general.

I typically go for the color I want and don't worry about resale. Would rather drive something I love and pay a little extra.
