Here are a few (sorry for formatting, copy/pasted from the tracking sheet):

This makes Ford scheduling unpredictability clear - I have earlier reservation date and later build date than the above - but I am over it now - at least have a build date compared to some who dont yet have one

Myself included :(
But I ordered September 24th. I'm hoping I'll get a build date this week or next.

So do you think dealer allocations is playing a role in this, or are people with more expensive builds being put first?

Thanks, I see those now. I think I messed up my sort somehow the first time.

Even so, I don't see how that changes my assessment that someone with a November order that didn't have a prior reservation won't see their car until April. The latest of those order dates is 9/2. We have a large number of people (including some Mach Drops) who still don't have build dates assigned. Build dates are currently scheduled into February. Unless there is something unique that causes the system to move an order earlier due to line efficiency, I doubt that November orders will see a build date before March. We don't know delivery times but once they are that far along they will probably not be expediting shipping, so 4-6 weeks is likely. That's April -- without any new issues with COVID-19 impacting the plant, supply chains, or shipping.
There's so much we don't know about how orders are scheduled for production. There are orders and reservations made well after mine that are scheduled for production a month or more earlier. And probably vice versa as well. While I agree with your assessment of an April time frame, frankly I'd not put money on it. I'm not even certain anyone at Ford knows just why the scheduling is like this. AI rules all. ;)

Neither - this scheduling paradox has been discussed on this forum a lot.

Very high level - the data seems to indicate that unlike previously thought in this forum (note that Ford never confirmed this) all FEs not made first but, by and large lot of FE reservations made early have Nov/Dec dates. Because of Covid and other assembly line considerations we dont know, Ford seems to have scheduled quite a few other trims in the early mix. The big unknown is why some early reservation holders still dont have dates or have later build dates - the thoughts are that teh schedule is taking into consideration delivery points, smaller demand trims etc,..No one really knows. We know that most expensive builds are not getting earlier dates. Dealer allocations a factor? May be a small variable. Not really clear.

The good thing in general is that the build dates are earlier for later orders in general i.e, the schedule overall has moved up from this forums thoughts of summer deliveries for those later orders.

I think they are focusing on efficiency both in terms of getting the maximum throughput from the assembly lines and from a shipping perspective. They also appear to have prioritized the FEs as it looks like all of those, including Mach Drops will be built by 1/4.

Well, semi-prioritizing. Scattering them in through the first 7 weeks within a bunch of customer Premiums, and FCTPs.

Since they're currently mixing customer units and FCTP units together anyway, I'm still a little puzzled why all the FEs aren't ahead of customer Premiums (since the "mixing various models for efficiency" could just be accomplished by mixing FEs + FCTPs). But there's obviously a bunch of other criteria they're applying too that's spreading the FEs out over almost 2 months.

I've gotten past being too concerned about it, but it still puzzles me nonetheless.

Much of that in the first weeks of production seem to be driven by geography. They are filling the CA shipments. Once you reach December builds, I don't see many non-FE E4X Premiums. They are usually E, E4, or EX Premiums. Non-FE E4X Premiums don't become prominent until 12/21. Most of the 1/4 FEs are Mach Drops. I only see one FE after that and it has really strange metadata, including a U8MMA VIN I don't understand.

Let's hope that COVID protocols hold and keep the virus at bay. Supply lines are incredibly thin and stretched to the breaking point for all manufacturers worldwide, not just Ford and the other automobile makers. It won't take much of a hiccup with the virus to put things on hold and leave all of us waiting (or worse) and a lot of folks in Cuautitlan out of work (or worse).
