So I ordered my 22 MME GT on 11/20/21.
Since then it’s been short of a nightmare! I got the email from Ford stating my order is confirmed with my order number but Ford states as of today over the phone that they can’t see my order number and the dealership is saying there’s nothing on my order either and that my $500 wasn’t received to place the order when the $500 was deducted out of my account immediately. Anyone else have a nightmare of an issue? If so, did it get better or worse or did you end up cancelling , what happened with your story? Thanks for sharing!

The ordering system has been a mess from the get go. Most of it has to do with this hybrid dealer/online order thing they are doing.

Honestly if you just recently ordered and no one can confirm anything, I would strongly consider cancelling and restarting the process. At this point a chargeback can easily get your money back. If you wish to salvage the order you may want to show up at the dealership in person and see if you can get someone to help you.

For my personal situation, Online Ford shows I have a cancelled order (WHICH I DID NOT CANCEL). I've contacted Ford and the dealer and so far the order is alive and everything still seems to be moving along. I even got a production weeks a few weeks later (1/10/22). I'm still weary but we'll see in 2 months or so.

Exactly! Still worried , I don’t want to be in that position thinking your good just to find out all this time you’re not even on the reserve list, I just don’t want to waste time as it’s already 28+ weeks for the 22s! Thanks for your reply!

If not seeing your order a couple weeks after you placed it qualifies as a “nightmare,” don’t read any of the threads about people who ordered in 2019, converted orders in April 2021, cars built in August and then stuck waiting on “chip hold.”

Worst case in your scenario you lost 2 weeks of waiting. Pretty low on the “nightmare scale” around these parts.

It’s not totally clear what you did though.

Did you place a “reservation” on Ford.com or did you covert it to an order through the dealer? Who did you pay the $500 to? Ford or the local dealer?

Placed order thru Ford.com , local dealer and Ford both don’t see my order id number and as if $500 wasn’t posted, yea glad to not be in those 19’s position and don’t want to get nowhere near that but I guess I’m off to a good start with that.

This is where the he ordering process can be confusing. Are you sure you placed an order and it wasn’t just a “reservation?”

Step 1 for me: Go to Ford.com, pick your stuff out, pick a dealer, pay $500, get a reservation.

Step 2: Go to a dealership, negotiate price, convert reservation to an order. Ford refunded my $500, negotiated deposit at dealer (in my case it was $0, but most have their own deposit).

Did you do step 2?

Is the order number provided by Ford assigned in temporal sequence across the US? From the data table in this forum, the first four digits of my order number, 1142, appears to match the week of 7 December 2021. (The orders of the week before begin with 1141, and the week after 1143.) Or is my order the eleven millionth? Anyone got any insight or explanations about the order number? State code? US vs other countries?
