I've mentioned this issue elsewhere on the forum, when talking about other issues, but I want to make a specific thread to try to find out if this is happening to anyone else on a regular basis, and if there's a fix for it.
I bought my GTPE new, about 4 weeks ago. Ever since, the Connectivity Icon has been hit-and-miss. I can have the car parked in my garage, and it will work for a few hours or a few days ... next day, it might completely disappear for a few days. Same while driving on I-75 ... one day, it will be there while I'm driving, next day it won't be there. I'm within AT&T cell range at all times, so it should always be on, I would think.
The other thing that happens when the Connectivity Icon is missing is that "Connected Vehicle Features" (and the pull-down menu associated with it) doesn't work. Presumably that, combined with the missing Connectivity Icon, indicates that the car isn't connecting with Ford during the time that is happening.
The car had a failed OTA attempt at updating the APIM on Friday morning, and since then (60 hours ago), I have not seen the Connectivity Icon (probably turned the car on a dozen times since then, to check).
1. Anyone else have/had this issue? Is it normal? I don't think it's normal, because it never happened to my first Mach-E, unless it was out of AT&T range.
2. Is there a way to fix this? Do the dealers have a known fix? When I had my car into the dealership a week ago, the EV Tech said that he had never heard of a car that constantly had a missing Connectivity Icon.
