OTA Update ECG-24.2.4.9

My 2023 received ECG-24.2.4.9 today.

Some are getting ECG-24.2.4.9.1. The write ups are a little bit different ... wondering if there is a slight difference between the two.

I got the same on 6/21/24 and my MME is a 2024 I got first week of April. As others have posted, it’s difficult to find and see what software updates your car has. This could be improved in PASS. Also, us newbies would LOVE for someone to create a running post/thread on all the puzzling acronyms used in this forum. APIM, GWM, -FAN, -FAP, FDRS? And the list goes on and on. Some I figure out with search function while others remain a deep mystery. I get why posters use them since having to type out the whole string of words would be …well….a PIA! (pain in the ….)

-FAN/-FAP refers to what software strategy version (in this case) the GWM module is on. Those are not acronyms but software versions of a particular module.

FDRS is "Ford Diagnostic & Repair System" which you also won't see on that list. That is the software the dealers use to diagnose and repair newer Ford vehicles. With that software, you can also update and configure the different modules in our vehicles.

Not to be confused with FORScan which is non-Ford software that allows you to do a whole other set of things that you cannot do with FDRS.

And thanks to you as well Javier for adding these definitions. I'll take all I can get. Jeez learnng this vehicle is harder than any of my law classes were. Good thing it's such a cool car to drive or I would have just thrown in towel and remained oblivious to any/all messages, warning lights or notifications.

My 2023.0 GWM was recently updated at the dealer to -FAM. Didn't see any mention of it anywhere. Seems close to this update?

Since I got my vehicle back from the dealer, this is actually the first Update that I’ve received so whatever it fixed or fixes?

Actually, when I clicked on it, it says it improves communication for updates lol although I could unlock the car, but it would not restart or rather start remotely.

I don't rely on what the release notes say. There have been so many updates sent out that supposedly improve the updates process........it is hard to imagine why the OTA process still blows more than the Hawk Tuah girl.

If you read the release notes screenshot in the first post, that's what it says. ;-)

I can imagine a sort of distributed AI where each vehicle creates a model of its own, and based on an accuracy score shares it with neighboring cars that have lower scores. Then each of them attempts to better the score by doing random modifications to the new model. Winner gets to spread is version of the model. Like evolution but much faster...

And versions of a model that crash are less successful eventually, but perhaps succeed in the short term...

I think an intern would apply more diligence.

My guess is LLMs.

I was going to side eye non native american English, but that error looks more like AI....

I think the release notes said something about improved communication. To test, I tried to talk to the car, but it still doesn't communicate very well.
