Have done a cursory search here and not come across anything similar, so apologies if it was asked before...

Anyway, I have OTA software updates scheduled for 8PM on every day but Tuesday. It's been that way for almost a year, and it's reflected on the screen in the car as well as on FordPass, and routinely notified that updates would take place as scheduled. About 6 months ago it started to ignore the schedule completely and seems to install updates anytime, anywhere. Most of the time they've happened mid day, and once it actually did one while we were in a CVS. I got the notification from FordPass that it had done it while we were in the store!

Luckily we haven't had one happen that caused us to be stuck waiting for it to complete, but I have to believe that day will come.

Has anyone else experienced this issue or one similar?

The schedule is not what you think it is.

Updates get download and applied whenever, EXCEPT when they require the car to be immobile for a period of time. THEN, AND ONLY THEN, is the schedule used. Update is download but not applied until the schedule, unless you choose to apply it sooner.

Turn off automatic updates if you don't want ANY updates to happen without your approval.

Thanks. I did not realize that it made that distinction, as initially it seemed that every update that came down adhered to the scheduled installation window. Just my perception I guess. Thanks again.

Most of the recent updates did not require downtime, hence the difference. Fear not though, I suspect there will be a few updates in the future that will require downtime and will follow your schedule! ;)
