LA is struggling trying to overcome the destructive wind and fire. Outages are almost everywhere around the county.
How Mach e can help, I've been trying to charge my backup battery in it, I hook it up to 12v cigarette connector and leave the car on but locked. I turn off the beam lights either
It works but sooo slow. The speed is about 75-100 w. Another problem is that the car turns itself off from time to time. Need to go and turn it on again. I check Off the autoturnoff option in settings but it keeps coming back.
The lights also turn on by themselves. Have to go and turn them off again,
Any ideas how to deal with those little things, or are there any other ways the ev could help during Outages

I think you just have to manually turn the headlights off. And the “trick” to keep the car running I believe is to turn the ac off but the fan speed on low. You do have to change the “auto off 30 min” setting every time.

That said, the 12v cigarette lighter isn’t going to give you much power either way.

In this situation your car is better used to charge cell phones etc.

People have wired in an inverter so the car can be used as an emergency generator, but it’s not built like that from the factory unfortunately. The F150 Lightning is.

yeah, situations like this I do wish the V2G/H was further along in all EVs. that functionality would be super useful right now.

The 100w speed is bearable. But need to check every 30 min is killing me

The shutdown timer disable is for ONE cycle only. So you start the car, then turn it OFF. It will run until you power down the car. Next time it needs to be turned off again.

The Mach-E is not meant to power things, whereas the Lightning is.

Stay safe.

Why it powers down even after I turn disable timer off?

The only reason it would do that is possibly if it's at a low state of charge. Otherwise, it should not.

Hey RT1,
I have you considered getting a solar panel for your backup battery? I have a panel for my ecoflow delta.

I have a solar panel for it, but it is useless when it is too windy. That is why it is always good to have an option to use your car battery
