Preface: I don't have a home charger of any sort, so it's hard to replicate this on-demand/easily.

I've been charging at a particular public charger location that has a bank of 240v, 48A Tesla destination chargers with my TeslaTap for 18 months on and off. Never had any issues. Last night, I was plugged in, and after about an hour, I had the dreaded "schedule charge did not begin" error in FordPass and orange blinky lights on the charge port. Long story short, switching EVSEs did not fix the issue (error came back a second time after an hour) and I found that P0E5F was logged in the SOBDM. The problem is, I don't have a timestamp for when the code was thrown.

Questions:
1) Is there any way to figure out the timestamp for the thrown code in CarScanner? If not, is my only avenue FDRS?
2) If that code is the cause of my charging failure, anyone have any idea how screwed I'd be in terms of waiting for replacement part(s)? i.e., is it some sort of backordered part usually?

Looks like "Battery Charger Coupler Temperature 'A' Too High", this all happened with Teslatap on? I would rule that out. It's most likely charger side.

Correct, with the TeslaTap. I'm trying to find a 40 or 48A public J1772 charger around here, but that's in short supply (which is why I try to park at this location in the first place). I've inspected the Tap's pins visually, but they look fine with no signs of carbon deposits, deformities, etc.

And by charger side, do you mean EVSE or the more pedantic on-board AC charger in the vehicle? :)

Sorry, EVSE side with the TeslaTap. Remember TeslaTap is not officially supported or UL approved. I'd bet money that is the issue or maybe something changed on the Tesla destination EVSE. Can you use the mobile charger and plug into a 120?

Two different Tesla destination chargers had the same issue, so I don't think it's the EVSE. I agree the Tap might be the issue (and a much more convenient issue, too), but I'm really worried that it isn't.

I can test 120v somewhat more easily, but I don't think the low amperage from that will be definitive in testing the concern. I'll try a 40 amp EVSE nearby to see if that will cause the issue...

Don't those get software updates? I remember some behavior is different between two generations of the destination chargers when using TeslaTap.

It sounds like the charge port on the car is overheating. Others have reported this, with the fix being dealer replacement of the charge port.

May or may not relate to use of the TT.

The destination chargers? Yes, they do. But I can almost guarantee that that location does not update the chargers - it has zero cell service ?.

I'm wondering if the dealer will just go off the stored code. Most dealers here don't have EVSEs above 32 amps, so if it can only be replicated for charge speeds >40a, I might be hosed?

People have reported both. It depends on the dealer. The crappy ones will tell you “It works here” and send you on your way.
The competent ones will fix your car.

Yeah, I'd rule out TT before dealing with any dealer crap. What comes up on Plugshare around you? I guess Chicago (big city) not really known for free places to charge or park.

I'm fine paying to park/charge, but the problem is nothing comes up here for higher-powered J1772 here :( Our entire city is very, very old and backward, so most places are limited to 208v @ 32A.

Anyone in Chicago willing to lend me a TeslaTap for a couple hours? ?

Maybe dealer will let you charge to troubleshoot yourself
