Weird! When I complained about how unreliable PAAK is in previous posts. I was met with a whole bunch of people telling me it must be my own fault because it works so splendidly

I am a loyal PAAK user. I've been using PAAK exclusively since I got my car in April of 2021. Worked like a champ. Until last December. Ford pushed an update that screwed up PAAK. So, I started carrying the keyfob. After a couple of months later I tried PAAK again to see if they'd fixed it but it was iffy on my Galaxy S22 Ultra. Sometimes it worked, sometimes it took about 15 seconds to work once I got near the car, sometimes it never connected. So, I returned to usinng the kefob.

Last week I replaced my S22 Ultra with a Google Pixel 10 Pro XL and what a world of difference. It's like I'm back in 2021 again. Always connects quickly and has never failed. When walking toward my car in a parking lot the taillights light up when I'm 20 feet away. I'm happy not to carry the keyfob again.
I'm glad you are up and running.
However, I'm afraid that the same thing will happen to your new phone.
Why do I say that? Your old phone worked until it didn't. The same thing will happen to your newer one. Updates for the phone or PAAK are not coordinated, so it will happen again.
The FOB never fails.

First of all.... "rare"? Really???? Second of all, it can absolutely be a catastrophe if you are far from home..
Do a forum search for the following "Fob issues" and "PAAK issues" and please tell me again how "rare" it is. And again, I could care less about whatever method you guys use to enter your car, my concern is people will thinking paak is "near flawless", go on a road trip from Az to California and then realize....not so much....lol..
You do realize you can still use the keypad and code to enter and drive your vehicle. BTW add me to the list of people that have no problems using my phone as a key. Although according to you I’m lying lol.

I do resent Ford a bit for not using the Apple CarKey API which would allow for FOB like operation with iPhones as it reprograms a NFC chipset that works while the phone is turned off, but there is no Android analogue.
This is ancient history now, it was discussed here during the run up to the first deliveries and in the early part of 2021. I’d suggest doing a forum search but the forum search function are a bit “lacking.” Besides, I’m pretty sure the posts were all made in late Old English or very early Middle English and are thus indecipherable to us early 21st century types. ;)

I experienced the same thing. The reason why is just because over time the battery in your phone degrades in health (like all batteries), and as it degrades your phone changes the way it operates to account for the degradation. One of those changes is lower the rate that it broadcasts it’s BLE signal (this is what the car picks up on to see if it’s there).

You can just set up a PaaK and not rely on it. The passcode can then be created then used whether you have the phone on you or not. 🤷‍♂️🐩
I tried it out and found out the "problem" I was having. It really isn't much of a problem, and maybe I will just live with it to have the backup passcode.

What I notice is that I can get farther from the car before walk away locking happens.

EDIT: I just found out what was the real problem. If I’m carrying both the FOB and the phone setup as PAAK they seem to interfere with each other. Twice now I have got in the car and selected my wife’s profile. And I have made sure the FOB and my phone is connected to my profile. This is even though her profile isn‘t connected a phone or a FOB and I was the last person driving.

Hi, before I had a OnePlus 9 Pro and paak worked great, now I have bought a Pixel 9 Pro Fold and now paak doesn't work anymore 😭
Any tips how to get it to work again ?
Best regards

I like my '25 MME, but the software is buggy. The PAAK is just one example. It is great when it works, until I need to pull a fuse to make it work again. CarPlay is wonderful, except when it decides not to work, even with the cable plugged in. One day my rear hatch decided it didn't want to open, not with the fob, or the button on the hatch. It wouldn't open until I started the car and used the button on the screen. I feel like I'm driving a work in progress.

I've been using paak since apr 2021 and prefer to use it , but about every 6 months (probably related to an update) it quits or gets inconsistent. This just got inconsistent again a couple weeks ago (guessing an update came out with bugs) anyhow back to using a key fob until it gets fixed AGAIN
