Painfully slow (possibly dangerously) camera view selection delay

Most of the time when I put my MME into reverse, I just continue to backup, like out of my garage, referring to the 360 view and/or mirrors when appropriate. Sometimes, like in a parking lot, I want to switch from the default 360 view to the wide angle view (top button of the three options) where mirrors aren't as effective, to get a better look at things that may be in my way or approaching. But the view does not change when I press the button for a very long time like 20-30 seconds or more. This is also true for the middle option as well. There's a button sound like it felt the press, but nothing happens. I feel like this can be dangerous since there is more visibility to approaching objects in the wide angle view. Yes, the warning tones will sound if there is something coming up, but I'd like to see them BEFORE I start to back up. After the car has been driven for a while, all views of both the front and rear cameras operate instantly which is what should be the normal behavior IMHO.

I took my car to my dealer for some other issues and told them about this. They observed the issue as well but after comparing the issue with a new car on the lot, they told me they saw the same delay, so they felt it was normal. I know it's NOT normal as it used to switch immediately when any other camera view button was selected. It changed somewhere along the line and I can't say when as it's not something I do every time.

@Ford Motor Company Any chance that you can look into this please? I know it's happening to others since my dealer observed the same behavior on MME's in their lot but thought it was "normal" behavior. Thanks!

This week I received 6.14 and I immediately starting experiencing this same behavior. Before this update, changing views was quite snappy. Hmpf.

Ford has reached to me and, after a brief exchange of messaging, is escalating this issue to a BEV agent. I was pleased with the fast responses and will keep this thread updates as/if I learn anything helpful.

Same issue here. I noticed that it began lagging about a week ago but I don’t remember where any OTA’s fell in that timeframe. I did get one recently.

I used the voice feedback to report it.

Interestingly, my camera switching has been much quicker the last several days. Maybe the latest software update corrected it? Anyone else seeing it improve?

It started happening to me back in June, which also happens to be the last time I received an OTA update (MY2021). Given that this car does not have great rearview visibility, I find it to be a hazard when backing out in a parking lot. I usually end up continually hitting the button and swearing for a minute until it works, rather than risk hitting a pedestrian. Extremely frustrating that this car has a less reliable rearview camera than a 2015 Honda.

Hey guys! I just received a recent OTA (public charging availability) and this seems to be fixed. I can immediately go into reverse after starting my car and press the buttons. I agree, the wide angle was super helpful for backing out of the Costco parking spots, lol!

I agree, mine is now back to normal with instant changes between the three different views! I've recently received two updates, the most recent was BC 1.3 so it got fixed somewhere along the line. Thanks for listening Ford!

@Ford Motor Company I haven't received any updates since June, so this frustrating and dangerous issue still exists. I have a '21 Job 1. When will this issue be resolved for the MY 2021 owners???
