Hi all,

New Mach-E, 2023 model
I'm not sure if this was an update or always like this.

I'm having issues with the door button to open the front passenger door.

  1. If the car is off, and in a deep sleep, the passenger door button takes 5-8 presses. I've tried different long and brief presses till it opens. This is after unlocking the car with key fob (no PaaK in the UK)
  2. I tested if its for security and stays locked until driver is in. I opened the driver door and left keys in the car and walked around to try it, same again, takes multiple tries till it responds.
  3. Starting the engine, then walking around, the door opened right away.

Is this a feature to save the 12v battery? Once the engine was on it worked perfectly so I'd guess there's no loose electrical wiring issue.

I wouldn't mind it on the 2 rear doors but surprised with the front passenger seat.

Thanks for any advice.

The Mach E opens its doors to you… when you open your door to it.

The Mach E is like a beautiful woman. You’re just going to have to accept that certain things are never gonna make a lot of sense. Or, that no matter how hot she is, somebody, somewhere is sick and tired of her bullsh*t (refusal to open doors in a timely manner).

The good news is that, even if the fob doesn’t always get all doors to open reliably, it could always be worse: you could be using PAAK!

I came here for the engine.......

Is this in a specific location. Is it near a 5g tower? Your ring doorbell? Your Wifi gateway? Do you live near a overpowered radio transmitter, radar station, long line microwave link? All these things can pad down the front end of a receiver even if working on different frequencies and cause poor reception.

Of course, our MachE just does not like to let the rear doors open until the fronts open sometimes, it is a personality thing. Still like the buttons more than door handles and that keypad is the bomb for going to the beach or theme parks.
