I found the built-in Qi charger on my '23 Premium to be junk. I'm told others have had better luck, but regardless of the quality of the unit it can be difficult to find the proper placement of the phone to avoid the overheating issue.

I'm unsure if your phone is compatible with MagSafe - some phones require a case to be used with the magnet built in. If yours will work, and you can afford a $100 accessory, I highly recommend the aftermarket dual MagSafe charger tray by Twraps: https://twraps.com/es/products/magsafe-compatible-dual-wireless-charger-for-mustang-mach-e

*I'm not affiliated with Twraps in any way other than being a customer. I just like the product. Correct phone placement every time, no sliding around, no overheating issues.
SOLD! My iPhone 15 Pro Max overheats to the point the phone shuts down on long trips. Twraps is a perfect solution and can charge my wife's phone, too!

Thanks to this post I don't have my car yet (currently in build ..C'mon @Ford Motor Company !!) I just purchased the wireless charger, Just so everyone knows Even my 2019 Edge ST gets my Google Pixel 10 Pro cooking, I no longer use it. I'm happy for this product, looking forward to it.

I was just saying after reading this post, I purchased the TWRAPS magsafe charger AS my EDGE ST's wireless charger also cooks my phone, so its not just the Mach E's wireless charger that heats up phones, must be a Ford thing.

Pretty much don't use the wireless charger. It did not charge faster then android auto was using on a trip to Michigan and the screen went black/blank as we hit DC traffic because the phone battery was DEAD ZERO.
I plug in on longer trips now. Works great and doesn't heat as much.
