After 9 months it is finally here. I searched the forum for Beginner info but had no luck. Is there anything that owners should do right away to the car? I know this sounds like a weird question. Like, update any software or settings you recommend? Do you charge the first night if you only drove a little? Should I wait to charge till the battery is really low for the first time? TIA

Nope. Just get in and drive.

However, I set up the PAAK first thing and have almost never used the FOB since I got the car in April.

The first thing you should do, if you haven't done it already, is to download a PDF of your owner's manual from owner.ford.com to all your devices, and read it. Too many never do this.

You don't need to charge right away.

YOU can't update any software, and it should be current anyway.

Thanks I just looked it up. Anything specific you recommend in the manual?

Read it cover to cover. There are features in there that you won't know how to operate without that.

Also spend some time reading the forum. Lots of things mentioned here that you won't see directly spelled out in the manual.

Congrats on your new MME! ??

I read the manual cover to cover probably 4 or 5 times during my wait for my car to be built. Then I re-read the stuff that was interesting to me a few times while I was waiting on delivery. Oh, and I read a lot of this forum. ??‍♂?

Isn't there a checklist of stuff to look at/ checkout? I know I bookmarked that at one point.

First think I’d do is if you plan on using PaaK, be sure to set your keypad codes and code to start the car to things you’ll remember. Better safe than sorry if PaaK decides to just stop working.

Apart from that, enjoy the car and tailor the experience to how you like with drive modes, one pedal mode, etc. Congratulations on getting yours btw, it truly is an amazing vehicle to drive. The software is kinda meh, but it drives better than any Tesla I’ve driven.
