Looking at this support page for more details on the Plug and Charge feature, it appears it's not available in Canada? Do we think that Tesla will be the first network that Canada will open up? I was hoping Electrify Canada would be an option since there are some newer stations opening up in Atlantic Canada...

I guess it's time to download the Tesla app

20 months and no single step Plug and Charge that I've seen. I can activate Flo chargers on my Charge Assist screen so the communication is there between the networks but it is always a 2 step process. Plug in, then activate the charger in Charge Assist.

Ya I bought my mach e on Wednesday and it took me till today to figure out that plug and charge doesn't work in Canada. But sounds like we are getting it with the Tesla chargers!

Plug and charge does work on Tesla Superchargers. One guy I know did it yesterday with his Lightning.

Is there something I need to do before this will work for me?

I have the Charge Assist app in my MachE and got the Supercharger update the other day.

Today though I went to a Flo charger and tried to use Charge Assist but it wouldn’t activate when I pressed it. Tried in FordPass app as well and no dice.

Worked when I activated via the Flo app on my phone but would like to be able to just activate in the car, plug in, and charge.

You need to have an active Blue Oval Charge Network set up in your Connected Services with an active credit card. Other than that, it is not uncommon to have to try to activate Flo several times. Connectivity isn't always the greatest between Ford's network and others.

Ah okay. I have that all set up as well.

Next time I’ll just retry a few times. Be nice if it actually worked as expected though lol.

Also may be a side note - but does anyone in Canada have the Plug and Charge toggle in the FordPass > Vehicle (bottom tab) > Charging (dropdown) > Blue Oval Charging Network section?

As far as I know this is needed for Plug and Charge to work but it doesn’t even exist in my app. Pic attached.

Short answer is no. Our screens are quite different than our US counterparts. I see none of the PnC stuff that our US folks see. Initially when I set it up 20 months ago, I had the PnC switch but that disappeared about a year ago when it became clear it didn't work in Canada yet. I expect that onboarding the Tesla Supercharger network will fix this, and trigger others to get onboard.

Same here.

Also, AFAIK the only place to add your credit card details is online, not through FordPass.

I’m going to go ahead and ressurect this old thread. We will be taking a trip next month from Maryland to Michigan via Canada. So it will go Maryland-Pennsylvania-New York-Ontario-Michigan. We are taking our time getting there, spending two nights at hotels with L2 charging (in NY and Ontario). Of course, there will be more charging along the way. Other than Tesla, does the Blue Oval Network plug and charge work anywhere in Canada yet?

Plug and Charge did not work for me on Tesla in Canada when I was there in April. Normal activation through the Tesla app did work.

I cannot speak for any other network.

We go up to quebec quite often, no plug and charge, but every charger we have used activates just fine from "Public Charging".

Interesting. I didn’t even know that was a thing you could do until reading this thread. So I should plug in and then go to the Public Charging app on the screen and it will pay using the card on my Ford Pass account?

The public charging app on the in car screen has been disabled. You can activate from your phone within the ford app though.

What he said above, in car now disabled, but works fine from the phone app. But yes, we have zero charging accounts, we have zero charging apps, we just have cc on file with Ford, and activate via phone app, works awesome. Also Ford is the only one that can do it (maybe MB now?) but I put this in tesla peoples faces for years now, they cant do anything like it.
