Power Steering Assistance Fault Warning

Happy new year guys. 2021 Mach E w/21k miles. I woke up today and took the car off the charger (outside in NE PA cold) and when I went to start it I got the Power Steering Assistance Fault Warning on the dash and found the car has no power steering when I attempted to drive. Any thoughts? Your Help and your time is appreciated as I am an accountant who does not anything about fixing this. lol I am sure accounting would be needed if I had to go to the dealer to have anything fixed ?

I don’t know, but my guess is the power steering is broken. Maybe try the disconnect 12v battery trick?

It happened to my 2022 before in a warm day. Started the car, backed out of the parking spot, felt no power steering assistance. “ service power steering soon” popped up. It still ran except the steering wheel was heavy. Drove a few blocks, dropped by a store then got back in the car, started, power steering back to life. Never happened again since. Looks to me it’s a computer hiccup.

Yeah try restarting it, could be a one-time glitch.

If it happens again, then bring it in for service.
