I woke up this morning to an uncharged car and a "Powertrain Malfunction" error. It didn't charge last night because of the error and when I connect a charger to it, it gives a charger error message. I've called several dealers in my area, and none can get me in within a week or so. It drives fine, but when this battery runs down, I won't be able to charge it. Any suggestions? This seems ludicrous since it's a 2022 with 12,000 miles on it. I asked the dealer I bought it from if they'd give me a loaner until they can "get to it," to which I was told, "no, but you can rent something from Enterprise." Top notch customer service, folks! Can't wait to drop another $80k with you.....NOT! I enjoy having a very expensive brick in my driveway and then having to pay extra to have rent something to get to work.

Hi there. This charge concern doesn’t sound like something we want you to experience with your Mach-E. Could you please send us a PM with your VIN and the name and location of your Ford dealer? I'd be happy to look into how I can assist you on my end.

Dear Ford,
Seriously, you need to take care of renting a vehicle for your customers, rather than making us try to find a rental car, and worrying if the reimbursement that you (might) give us is sufficient. Dealers CLEARLY don't have enough 'loaners' available to give out for days or weeks (months?) on end. Get your crap together.

Sincerely,
Everybody who has had to deal with this.

Love you for this! Remember when loaners were the norm for new car owners?

P.S. My car and yours are the same color. It gets so much attention!

Did you try a DCFC charge? You could also inquire here on the forum to see if someone would be willing to look at your error codes to see if this may be the HVBJB issue assuming your car was manufactured prior to May 25, 2022. Unfortunately not all Ford dealers have loaners but It does seem like Ford will pay for a rental if it is a warranty issue; however, as you are experiencing first you have to get someone to look at it.

I did try a DCFC on my way to work this morning. No dice unfortunately. It looks like someone from Ford commented here. Let’s see what happens. ??

Did you send them a DM (direct message)? Nothing happens until you send the message.

Yup! Thank you
I hope your experience is better than mine. I did get a great response from the Ford person on the form but they are just like a customer service rep. They took my info and forwarded it on to someone else at Ford who’s response was “ Your concern is not an issue, if you still have an issue contact your local dealer, Have a nice day”. My question was whether Ford was still sending out the recall software OTA as I never received it. So what I imagine will happen in your case is they will forward your information to your local dealer. I do hope you get better a better result than I did and perhaps they will get your car in quicker.
