Got the dreaded High Voltage Battery Warning and Powertrain Malfunction notification on Saturday for my May 2022 pony.

Phoned my local Ford dealer this morning and I'm booked in for Friday 16th May - which isn't great because that's two and a half weeks away. Not sure what I'm going to do for wheels in the meantime.

The car still seems to let me drive it, but I'm assuming I shouldn't?

Is there anything I can tell my dealer to speed up this process? e.g. order these parts now? I don't want a phone call on the Friday afternoon to tell me the obvious that "we'll need to order some parts and they'll take three weeks to arrive"

Also, if they do need to order parts and they need to keep my vehicle for an extended period, am I entitled to a courtesy car during that time?

Happened to my First Edition, and each time I had this issue, the HVBJB was replaced, error code was POADA, I got the AA out under the breakdown cover to confirm the error code, and they managed to phone the dealership to get the car in earlier. It might work for you. I had this happen 3 times and was on my third replacement after the last one went within a month of repair. The dealer did manage to turn the repair around in 2 days. I got a courtesy car once mine went in, which was a Merc EQ250+. I no longer have my FE as have a GT now so no longer have that niggle in the back of my mind. BTW you may have the Service Vehicle Soon message, but if you keep driving, you will probably get the Stop Vehicle Now message, which I would not drive if you have that message. Hope that helps.

I just plugged in an OBDII reader and the code is P068A - ECM/PCM Power Relay De-Energized - Too Early. But that's just a generic code I think. I can't see any others.

Hmmm

This particular code is related to the Powertrain Control Module’s power relay. It’s to alert you that the car sensed that the power-down procedure did not happen correctly, which could result in damage to the PCM’s processor. You should definitely get this looked at. It is likely that you can still drive the car without issue unless the car continuously reports a Stop Safely Now error on the instrument panel. ??

I had the exact same approx a month or two ago. The car drives but has decreased power, the dealer actually told me it was okay to drive but I disputed that claim as the error messages like yours tell you not to drive it.
I requested a courtesy car which the dealer arranged via ford who called me direct, had a Merc EQ 250+ while it was in being repaired, approx 7-10days at fords expense

I had the same faults come up on my 22plate model on the 10th April. The AA told me to take it straight to a ford dealer, they looked at it the following day and said it needed a new connector. I contacted them on Monday 28th and its still on back order with no delivery date so I have no idea how long its going to take! I'm currently in a hire car.

Wow. This is what I'm worried about - it takes them weeks before they can look at it and then ages for the part to get delivered.

I managed to contact a different dealer and it's booked in to be looked at on 13th May, but that's stil two weeks away. In the meantime I've dropped the car at the dealer in the hope that they can look at it between other jobs or if they have time.

Is the hire car provided by Ford? I have a trip over into Europe planned for the end of May and need the car by then. Any provided car will need to allow me to drive outside of the UK.

The problem I have currently is that the dealers near me can't even look at the car for two weeks.

Do I need to be more persistent and bug the dealership to get Ford to provide me with a courtesy car?

Fortunately for me mine is a company car so the company hired me a car straight away. My local ford dealer is a bit crap when it comes to courtesy cars when I've had services in the past.

Courtesy cars for Mach E’s that are having warranty work are provided by Ford directly rather than the dealer so it shouldn’t be an issue, that’s my understanding anyway.

UK Bev team to assist with delays in parts etc contact them on 01327 306616 option 6
This number has proved very useful. Thank you.

After leaving the car with the dealer for a week whilst I was on holiday, there were no updates, so yesterday I decided to ring the BEV team.

James immediately got on the case, putting in the necessary request to get me a "pre-diagnostic" hire car. This has been approved today so hopefully I'll have some wheels very soon.

In the meantime, the dealership must have got a nudge from Ford as they magically found time today to do the diagnostic work on the car.

I got an update this afternoon to say the fault has been diagnosed as a faulty connector and that the part is currently out of stock with no expected date.

James from Ford is going to do what's needed to get the part expedited to the dealer (I'm imagining here that someone is going to get on a plane with this part as their hand luggage and hold it like a baby all the way to the UK  - this is probably not what will happen).

So who knows when the part will be here...

@CloverRover is your connecter still on order?
