Hire car arrived this morning. A white Tesla Model 3. Let's hope it doesn't get vandalised!

I could have taken an ICE car on Friday, but I said I'd wait the extra few days until an EV was available.

Only slight snag at the moment is that I have a trip out of the UK planned for the end of the month and the hire agreement doesn't (currently) let me take it out of the UK. I guess I'll just have to wait and see how Ford get on before I start enquiring about who will cover the cost of the extra insurance / paperwork for the European trip.

I phoned that BEV number on Tuesday, they wouldnt deal with me because its a lease car. They told me to try the lease company, phoned them and explained it but they werent interested. Phoned my local ford dealer and enquired how it was going, part still showing out of stock - 5 weeks now! I did ask about a courtesy car, I might be able to get one through ford, they will look in to it

Discovered yesterday that the Tesla rental includes free super charging, which is nice.

Part is now at the dealers and the work will be done this week.

Also, took the rental into Europe over the weekend. No problems.

Got the call last night that the repair work had been done. Finally!

So I popped over this morning to pick it up. Everything seems normal. Definitely odd driving it again after being in the Model 3 for a month.

The car got the Blue Cruise update on Monday - which I already knew because the Ford Pass app told me - so I look forward to enabling the trial and trying it out.

The paperwork shows that TSB 23/2343 was tested (something about being able to shift out of park without pressing the brake) and resolved. Plus the brake system software update.

Then they resolved the main issue by replacing the HV BJB.

Obviously this is all covered under warranty, but for reference the price the dealer charged back to Ford was £1386, which includes £555 of labour.

Now I need to get out at lunchtime and clean the car, because - disappointingly - it hasn't been cleaned and has six weeks worth of dirt on it.

Also, is there anything I should check - e.g. that they've put everything back together properly?

I once got an ICE car back from a garage and found out a few days later that they hadn't screwed the oil filler cap back on...

I had the exact same approx a month or two ago. The car drives but has decreased power, the dealer actually told me it was okay to drive but I disputed that claim as the error messages like yours tell you not to drive it.
I requested a courtesy car which the dealer arranged via ford who called me direct, had a Merc EQ 250+ while it was in being repaired, approx 7-10days at fords expense

Was the work covered by warranty or did you have an OOP cost? I just got the same warning
