Ok. Just purchased a 22 GTPE with 5k miles. As I don't have a level 2 charger at home yet, I went to an Electrify America station and fast charged up to 95%then went home. I'm a Cath Lab RN and was called in multiple times over the holiday weekend so I wanted to keep it charged.

After I was home for a few hours we were called back in and on the way I had the two dreaded warnings hit me and power was reduced. Powertrain Malfunction and High Voltage battery warning. Took it to the dealer and when they scanned it everything was fine. No codes. So should I worry? Is it a forgone conclusion that this is going to happen again?

Did you get the SVS alarm in the car or just the notifications in Ford Pass? Some owners were receiving the alarms due to a software glitch and not due to any type of failure. There is a thread on the issue if you do a search although I forget the heading of the thread.

It popped up in the car and I had reduced power.

I guess the next question would be was the alarm there when you went to the dealer and did they happen to reset it? There are some members that can look up info on your car for you but I am unsure of what they can find if the dealer were to reset the fault codes. If it is an issue it will pop up again for sure and hopefully as another SVS and not a SSN but maybe only a glitch in your case and this will be a one time thing. By the way was your car built prior to or after May 25 of 2022 and if built prior to do you have any idea if the HVBJB was replaced?

If this does happen again I would suggest having one of the forum members check your error codes for you prior to taking your car back to the dealer. Or purchases an OBD reader and you can look up the codes yourself. Normally I try not to be cynical but in my mind I wonder why the original owner got rid of the vehicle with so few miles and then shortly after you purchase it you get this error. Maybe nothing - maybe dealer that does not know how to maintain an EV correctly. Seriously I hope this is a one time event and all goes well moving forward!

I had same warning pop up April 5th, 2023, for my MME GT (non-performance) with a 5/2/22 build date. It only had 3200 miles on the odometer. I took it to my dealer at AutoNation Ford Margate, Fl, and they knew right away that my high voltage battery junction box needed to be replaced. I think it's a known issue for certain build dates. This is a big-time job. They had to remove the battery by lowering it on a platform while they replaced the HVBJB. The service rep even sent me pics of the MME as it was serviced so I could monitor the progress. The part took three days to arrive at the dealership, but they did provide a rental car for the week it took to get the MME back. I am very pleased with this dealership. No problems since. Perhaps you should take it to another dealer for a second opinion if this happens again.

Good morning! If you send over a DM with your VIN and Ford dealer info, I can look into your concerns on my end.
