Pricing issue with custom order - resolved.

We ordered a GT in May. The dealership said they could not provide a price. But they were willing to place the custom order without a deposit. At the time they said they could provide the discounted pricing (employee pricing was in effect at the time) once the VIN was issued. The car is due to be delivered any day now according to the order tracker. Despite numerous contacts with sales at the dealership about asking about the price they don’t ever get back to me as promised with the employee pricing. This is making me suspicious of the dealer tactics. I’d love to hear any advice and any other experiences from those that ordered.

Dealerships gonna do dealership things. Should have gotten something in writing. They ordered a car without a deposit knowing it would be their car when it arrived and they could charge whatever they wanted. I doubt anyone can help.

What is the expected price? There is a dealer near me with 2025 GT, 24 miles for sale for $45K. $61k MSRP. Ford bought the car to claim tax credit then dump at auction. Seems like a really good deal if you are in the market for a new MME GT.

I doubt they changed the order. I have a copy of what they said they were going to order.When we discussed the order, the dealer was asking for a deposit. I told them that I’m not going to put down a deposit without knowing what the price, I.e. employee pricing at the time, was going to be. The sales manager said he’d place the order without a deposit. Seemed like a reasonable compromise at the time.

They also got basically new premium for $40K. Family bought a car from them recently, a 25 Ioniq 5 SEL AWD, 11 miles odometer for $17K off MSRP. A lot of these EVs are getting titled to claim credit and then dumped at auction.

That's an insanely low price for a GT! Someone is going to get a great car at a steal!

Did anyone else order in May and get told that Ford wasn’t providing not issuing employee pricing until after the VIN was issued? At least that’s what they told me at the time, but it doesn’t explain why they refuse to provide it so far. The car is due to arrive any day now, and I’m just waiting for them to call me at this point.
