Propulsion Sound

Propulsion sound is in the settings, where nearly everything else is. I leave it on but I barely even notice it or care about it anymore.

I'm aware that the choice of sound is in the settings, and am amused that in Unbridled mode it sounds like a V8. But I didn't think there was an option to turn it off altogether, unless it's a Forscan setting.

I don't know why those that want it quiet bother to comment. You just turn it off! Personally I agree that I'd like a volume option but also a V8 sound option ;-)
I tested the Maserati Grecale Folgore recently, they have it right. The engine sound is only inside but a really good sound. FORD - please give us that want it, a choice of sound and a volume control.

Next time you’re in the car with it on, tap the car at the top of the screen. The first page that comes up has the drive mode settings, 1PD and propulsion sound. Tap the slider to turn it off.

Yeah, the propulsion sound is only for you, inside the car. The sound the government is talking about is the exterior sound. There is not an option to turn that off.

The next time your out and about on a comfortable clear weather day, turn off the sound in the settings then roll the windows down and drive at about 15 mph. The sound you’ll hear externally is the federal mandated noise for the visually impaired and the situationally or momentarily preoccupied. It’s a very different from the internal sound we hear with “propulsion sound on”.

There are folks on the forum who have “altered” the car to allow them to eliminate the exterior sound at will. Threads here somewhere.

I have an older Prius with a noise maker that sounds like a worn brake pad rubbing on the rotor. Less than 24 hours after parking in our driveway, I found a Prius forum which told me where the speaker was plugged in behind the bumper and disconnected it.

Anyone else wish the propulsion sound was louder or at lease adjustable. Mybe its because after years of having resonators on exhaust systems it seems like it is very subtle.

I’d pay for the car to make the Jetson’s car sound. Externally too. Maybe even serious money.

It’d have to be the real actual sound though, not an almost or similar sound that skirts copyright infringement laws.

The Kia EV6 has some interesting sounds. Not Jetsons, but more options than the MME.

Warner Brothers, the current copyright holder to all Hanna-Barbera works, probably wants a bit too much in the royalty department.

The EV5-N owns the title for shear all-out fake ICE engine noise. All the way down to a fake 8-speed transmission.

Sorry to be the odd ball but I wish I could make it louder and different sounds like certain Tesla that has The Jetsons trippy takeoff sound. I feel that owners of big ICE and loud mufflers get to show up their cars by the sound of it. Why can I show up how techie mine is with a futuristic sound or one that makes fun of ICE cars like, galloping horses, an stampede or a rocket taking off.

Ford should make it sound like galloping horses as far as fake noises go. At least its fun and keeps with the Mustang theme.
