Public charging payment question

This is a complete noobie, and probably very dumb, question.

Some charging apps have network affiliations, and allow you to pay for using a partner charger. My question is - if, for example, I have both EVGO and ChargePoint installed on my phone, with tap to charge enabled for both, and I use an EVGO charger, is there a risk of both apps colliding and being double-charged?

They only work with their chargers. Evgo app only works with evgo chargers, chargepoint app with charge point chargers…etc. Or you can use the ford pass app to bill that way.

That is not true with ChargePoint and EVGO. Only ChargePoint has the tap feature w it’s Apple Wallet, EVGO does not have that, you have to open the app. You will not get double billed. Not all ChargePoints will work with EVGO because some are private.

Partner network on Evgo

Normally with a partner network you do not get billed right away. The charging session information gets sent to the partner network and the charge will then get sent back. So if you use your chargepoint app on an Evgo network by tapping you wont get charged right away. You'll only get charged once EVGo sends the billing details back to your app. The tap will indicate which app you are authenticating with.
