I have a hard time appreciating Race Red on any car, even the Mustang Coupe/Convertible. It's a decent color in its own right, but when there are so many other incredible colors available on other vehicles, this seems like an attempt to throw a new color at people (for an upcharge) instead of making substantial improvements to the vehicle.

Rapid Red was such a good color, and I was very disappointed when they discontinued it for 2025. My Black 2025 looks great when it's clean, but not so much at other times. Plus, it's not very interesting. Cyber Orange was a perfect color for the Mach-E GT.

Back to red, though, I agree that Mazda's deep red that they put on the CX-5 and other vehicles was a color you could lose yourself in. I'm not sure if it would look right on the Mach-E, but it is a color worth paying extra for.

At a certain point, maybe they could just assume that people are going to wrap them and put a basic non-metallic paint on the car for a $495 discount? Or maybe throw a bone to dealerships by offering a dealer-installed wrap option on the sticker and you can choose the wrap you want applied before delivery.
Like the one I just sold back to Nissan a few months ago this was my 2012

I like the bright red. Sure, it could be better than flat

However, I prefer not to announce myself to the cops. I want to be able to actually drive like a maniac

To me it seems like the difference between the original orangish yellow vs the new neonish yellow. There is a reason I'm looking at 2023's for my next mach e.

Great to see the comparison to the rapid red which I still prefer (although it looks a bit dull in those photos.) An old MB EV we had was similar to the new race red, a non-metallic paint that actually was really glossy and shined even more than a metallic color if waxed properly. I suspect that with the brighter color imperfections might be less noticeable.

I really like Race Red. Almost got it for my Bronco but I think it’s a color that only looks good when the car is washed and clean. It the car has layer of dust it just looks dull to me. The flat paint can’t overcome any dust or dirt.

Model Year 2026 Mach-E will include new Race Red color. Here's some first official (digital) views of it.

Ford really should have lead with this instead of that Mazda red.

I had three variations of that Mazda Red over 8 years, can't count the amount of compliments from random strangers. Bought the first one (Mazda 6) almost solely because of the color.
