Radio?

So, this is an update on the issue I've been having for months. When I start the car, sometimes the profile goes to Guest with guest radio stations. At first, I was frozen out of changing it back to my profile. but the dealer conferred with Ford and was able to fix it so I could at least change it from guest to me. Then it was behaving for awhile but started up again with the guest profile. Again, Ford replaced some module which hasn't worked.
It stilll keeps defaulting to Guest and radio stations when I start the car - but not all the time. It's random so I keep changing it back. But yesterday it happened while I was driving - first time that happened. I talked to service manager again and he says that Ford told him to replace the radio now.

Has anyone had this problem? Granted, it doesn't interfere with the driving but it seems like everything should work. This will be the 3rd time Ford is addressing this isuue.

It's a 2021 Premium which I took delivery on February 7, 2022 so I've had it a little over a year.

I suggest you change the radio presets in the guest profile to match your profile so it’s less of a big deal when it happens.

Do you use any other profiles? If not, you can also just turn off profiles all together.

Yes, my husband has a profile. Also, the screen has gone black a few times while driving and then resets itself. Odd.

It came and went for me for a long time.

Hasn’t done it as much recently.

But yeah, this was my solution- change all the guest settings to the same as my main profile settings.

It hasn’t happened to me in a long time. But when it did, I could usually switch it back by pressing the memory button on the door.

I have all identical radio presets, sound settings, and seat position settings in guest. I rarely know when it defaults to guest. That is a rare occurrence for me btw.

I noticed that too. Once in a while it will guest me, but what gets me more is when it uses my wife's profile when I'm clearly the one unlocking the door, her not even nearby. I'm even still old school and using the fob, so that's even more irritating, especially since she's shorting and I suddenly find myself driving from the dashboard. Simple press of the memory 1 button and all is back to me. I don't recall when it started happening, but I first thought it was because I got a new phone. Wouldn't think so since, again, I'm still a fob'er.

I hear that you have been having similar experiences. However, the fact is that it just shouldn't happen. There shouldn't be any defect and I will go to the mat with Ford if the dealership can't fix it. They are going to replace the radio but I don't think that will work since the Profile also controls the seat settings, etc. While in Guest profile, my settings are wrong. I think it's a waste of time but it's their dime.

I agree, and it's a very, very well documented issue here on the forum. The dealer will not be able to resolve the issue, don't waste your time. Tearing apart the radio and having them reinstall is only putting yourself at risk of something getting damaged or loose later.

There's another thread (somewhere) where a user was able to official log a bug with the Ford development team for it. Apparently they were unaware (how?) of this issue before.

It happens most commonly if you remote start the car, but I have also had it happen with the Key Fob and PAAK.

I agree with the other users - we set the Guest profile settings to something very similar to my wife and my profiles. Honestly, I've drive around for a while on Guest and not even realized it.

I have had this issue for months, even having update under the sun, as soon a I start up and the Mustang inside the circle has disappeared I know I will lose all my stations, fed up with it, as you can see by the blue circle I had ALEXA so the latest update had been downloaded, after yet another visit to the Dealership and a total rest, I have now not Mustang and ALEXA, I was told that there will be another download this coming June for Radio issues, yeah right, this is one of several issues I have had over the last 18 months with no resolve in sight
