After a year of driving my Mach E I can say that the range feature is way more accurate than my last car. The only thing is that it seems to be a bit off in the beginning. Typically a 100% charge for me in summer weather is about 375 KM. I noted that during a few long drives that when I watch the distance travelled plus range remaining the 375 KM quickly drops to 355 KM but then stays pretty close to that the rest of the trip. Example after driving 50 km it said the remaining range was 305 KM. After completing a 280 km round trip and got home I had 75 KM of range remaining. So after the initial drop it stayed static for the last 3/4 of the trip. So I know that my real range is closer to 355 KM despite what it says initially. And leaving home is all flat driving so there is nothing significant when I start out. Perhaps there are other factors for the car warming up? Anyway its way better than my last ICE which for 10 years told me that I had 900 KM range on a full tank and in my 10 years of driving it I never got more than 790 KM when running below the Empty line. So I'm happy with the calculated range on my Mach E, just wondering what might be causing the initial drop.

It's all speculation since we don't know what parameters Ford uses in the calculation, but here are a a few that come to mind. Was there a headwind in the beginning of your drive or a tailwind later? What was your cold tire pressure? Any change in cargo?

Very often, if you enter a destination into the Ford Navigation, it comes back after a few minutes with an adjusted estimate based on new parameters such as your expected speed, elevation changes, and weather.

A lot of times the range is based on your driving habits. Maybe upon reset, it takes about 50 km to accurately predict based on how you’re driving. I don’t know just my personal opinion.
