Rear Ended on the Freeway

I got rear ended on the freeway. There were 5 cars involved. I had stoped due to a traffic backup and the car behind me had stopped. They totaled my car. I came out without a scratch, My guess is the car behind me is totaled also. Her air bag did deploy. I did get knocked into the car in front of me. I did not get any photos at the site of the crash but got some at the Ford dealer where the car was taken. My insurance paid off the loan and paid me some so now I need to find a replacement for it. My insurance is going after the driver at fault and will give me the deductible when they get it back from the insurance of the driver at fault.

I have one question since this my only vehicle in ford pass if I delete it will my account get deleted or can I just add one back in when I get one. The Red GT's not not easy to find at the dealers in my area.

near as i can tell, the account won't get deleted if it doesn't have a vehicle attached to it. i added/removed my mach-e from a secondary account when i was testing third party app access and when i removed the mach-e the account remained.

i don't know if they have a dormant account policy though.

Thanks no one has fussed at me about having it on my account but I doubt it will matter since I don't think it is going to be on the road again anyway. I may just leave it if I can find one quick enough to replace it and delete it then.

They really don't repair wrecked vehicles anymore, do they?

If I had to guess, a qualified professional bodyshop is more than capable of returning that Mach-E to perfectly new condition. But I guess the insurance value equation just doesn't support them doing so?

EV's sure have collision repair industry quite gunshy.

it might be interesting to see any alerts that come through. it probably isn't on anyone's radar to clear it out either.

It was at a Ford dealership body shop to get checked out. They were on the list for my insurance company as one of their shops.

Makes me so curious what the true real world salvage value is on a totaled Mach-E that is 99% cosmetic.

And what the disparity in salvage value is between a Base vs top trim.

Regardless, I just hope everything goes smoothly for you and you are back in a Mach-E that you are equally pleased with.

the thing was crushed in back in the back. I liked to never got the lift cover pulled up so I could get my things I had placed under there. The hatch back latch was pushed back a few inches. I think the unibody was too bent up back there. It only had 5400 miles on it.

I want another Mach E if I can find a red one in the GT trim. I am trying to come as close as I can to the GTPE I had. If I can find one I will try and get it.

They were ok. The Subaru that hit them looked worse than the MME.

I think what also factors in is whether they can tell if the battery compartment got bent. As we've seen in other threads, even less body damage but with uncertain battery state totals it as well.
